REVIEW: THE COLLECTORS' SOCIETY by Heather Lyons

THE COLLECTORS' SOCIETY
BOOK 1

SYNOPSIS
From the author of the Fate series and The Deep End of the Sea comes a fantastical romantic adventure that has Alice tumbling down the strangest rabbit hole yet.

An enigmatic gentleman with an intriguing job offer too tempting to resist changes her plans for a calm existence, though. Soon, she’s whisked to New York and initiated into the Collectors’ Society, a secret organization whose members confirm that famous stories are anything but straightforward and that what she knows about the world is only a fraction of the truth.

It’s there she discovers villains are afoot—ones who want to shelve the lives of countless beings. Assigned to work with the mysterious and alluring Finn, Alice and the rest of the Collectors’ Society race against a doomsday clock in order to prevent further destruction . . . but will they make it before all their endings are erased?

* This is the first book in the adult romance/fairy tale Collectors' Society series.

The Collectors' Society (The Collectors' Society, #1)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series was a birthday present to myself and it came highly recommended for me to read.....

In paginis mundõs invenimus. In verbis vitam invenimus. In pages, we find words. In words, we find lite.

Wow, what an incredible way to capture your audience!! I absolutely love how this author took classic stories and the characters from those stories and added them to modern day nineteenth century and how they had to adapt in a different world then what they were used to. This is one of the most unique stories that I have read all year. My favorite characters of course we're Alice and Finn. This story is mystical and magical and full of wonderful twists and turns and I can't wait to read the next book in this series just to see where this author will take our favorite classical characters next. An epic read must read for YA and Adults to enjoy and one I know will become a household legend. I will treasure and re-read this story over and over again. A highly recommended read.

The Hidden Library (The Collectors' Society, #2)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was highly excited to dig my nose right into this book head first and came out excited and ready to read more...

Sometimes, the rabbit hole is deeper than expected . . .

This book is simply fabjous and I enjoyed every last minute of it. This was an awesome and wild ride this story was. So much action, suspense and new characters to fall in love with or hate depending on who the character was to our heroic characters from the first book. I love how the author intricately spins a Web of classical stories with the plot of the story. This is a refreshing and fun read. I love these fairy tales that are brought to life by this author and memorable each character is in his story. The ending is shocking and has caught me off guard and has desperately made me want to dive right into the next story. I highly recommend this read to all.

THE FORGOTTEN MOUNTAIN
Book 3

SYNOPSIS

Now Alice has become a member of the clandestine Collectors’ Society, and the impossible has found her again in the form of an elusive villain set on erasing entire worlds. As she and the rest of the Society race to bring this mysterious murderer to justice, the fight becomes painfully personal.

Lives are being lost. Loved ones are shattered or irrevocably altered. Each step closer Alice gets to the shadowy man she hunts, the more secrets she unravels, only to reveal chilling truths. If she wants to win this war and save millions of lives, Alice must once more embrace the impossible and make the unimaginable, imaginable.

Sometimes, the rabbit hole leads to terrifying places.

The Forgotten Mountain (The Collectors' Society, #3)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the first two books and had to dive right into this one.

"Each of us here has a story, but it may not be the one you think you know...."

Truer words have never been spoken...This author does a fabulous job on depicting how these magnificent classical stories will turn out and brought to life. This author also did a lot of research of each character to carefully make sure nothing was out of place with the original classics that are featured in this magnificent, mystical, magical, and we'll written twists and turns with the plot of this story. This author has a writing style that will keep you guessing yet entertained from beginning to end. She brought many of my fairy tale classics to life and slammed them into the nineteenth century where each character felt lost and had to adapt in order to survive depending on where they were thrown into and even in the different timelines in each setting throughout the plot of the story. I love the love each haracter had for one another and each one ws from a different timeline and barely knew each other at first. Each character had a different life than their authors actually predicted them to and such dark pasts which made this book that much more intriguing. I have fallen in love with these books and with the huge cliffhanger at the end, I hope their adventures are not over yet and I will be excited and anxious to read more. I highly recommend this read too.
