JENNY'S REVIEW: Landry's True Colors Series

True Colors
Landry's True Colors #1
Krysten Lindsay Hagar
Every day I walked down the sidewalk to school and wished I were one of the interesting popular girls who ran up with exciting news. Just once I’d like to be one of those girls instead of the being the one who didn’t get invited to things because people “forgot” about me.

Landry gets pushed into trying out for the American Ingénue reality show modeling competition with her two best friends. She doesn’t think she stands a chance, but she advances to the next level in the competition and her friends ignore her when they get cut.

Enter the gorgeous Devon, who also makes the first cut and includes Landry in her clique. Devon becomes the perfect best friend, but can their friendship survive the competition?

Landry hopes her big break could come at any moment, but soon sees there’s much more to modeling. She begins missing out on being with friends and has the chance to have a boyfriend when she meets a boy named Vladi from another school.

Part of Landry wants to be famous (and have her hair look good for once), but part of her just wants to be accepted. She learns about friendships, being true to yourself, and that a good hair conditioner doesn’t hurt.

I loved this story!!

I am a Paranormal lover but this book actually caught my attention and made me want to buy it and read it. So, I did and I am glad that I did!!! This book is absolutely amazing!!!

I loved the plot the most!!! I so understood what Landry was going through. It's tough being in school and being ridiculed by everyone in your class. I highly recommend this book to all ages from teen all the way up. It will intrigue and interest you from beginning to end and I give this author five stars and more for the characters and the story-line!!! Simply Awesome!!

Best Friends......Forever
Landry's True Colors #2
Krysten Lindsay Hagar
Landry Albright hopes the new year will start off in an amazing way--instead she has to deal with more frenemy issues, boy drama, and having most of her best friends make the cheerleading squad without her. Suddenly, it seems like all anyone can talk about is starting high school next year--something she finds terrifying.

Landry gets her first boyfriend, but then gets dumped just as things come to a head with her friends. She feels lost and left out, but finds good advice from what she considers an unlikely source. Landry learns to speak up for what's right, tell the truth (even when it hurts), and how to get past the fear of failure as she gets another shot at competing in the American Ingénue modeling competition. Will Landry get a second chance with her friends, fame, and Vladi?

Absolutely Fabulous!!
As I have said before, I am a Paranormal reader but from time to time, I like to venture out and give other genres a try and with this book, I am so glad I did. I loved the teenage drama that most kids face in school among their peers and the honesty and forgiveness and pure innocence that Landry showed throughout the story. I was constantly rooting for her and I was an emotional basket case in some parts. I felt every emotion that ran through Landry's life and how she was feeling throughout the book. The ending was just phenomenal and I was bawling my eyes out while reading it. This author has a magnificent writing style that I enjoyed. She knows how to pull her readers in and make us WANT to keep reading. I highly recommend this to all other readers. I felt as if I could relate to this character and that is what kept me addicted. I can't wait to read more of this author's work. It's an all around fabulous story. I give this author another five stars and more for this awesome story!!!
