WHAT WE ARE…
Clean Teen Publishing is a mid-list publisher with national distribution in most major book retailers. With over 50 authors and more than 120 unique titles, our company is changing the face of publishing. Clean Teen Publishing also has an adult fiction imprint called Crimson Tree Publishing.
WHAT WE AREN’T…
We are not a book blog, a reviewer service, or a vanity publisher. We also don’t publish work written by teens. However, a large majority of our titles are young adult fiction. We also have an adult fiction imprint called Crimson Tree Publishing.
WHAT WE ARE…
Our name stems from our desire to provide content disclosures on all novels. We do not believe in censorship; we believe in the right to know. Currently, there is no consistent rating system in place for books like there are for movies, music, and video games. We believe by offering a wider range of disclosure about the content of our books, we are offering something unique and desired by many readers. With that said, we will not deem whether a book is appropriate or inappropriate for any particular age range. Our disclosure is simply for you to know what is in the book. We leave it up to you to decide what you want to read. We provide the content disclosure on all of our books, including our adult Imprint novels by Crimson Tree Publishing. Librarians, parents, and readers are loving this disclosure system!
WHAT WE AREN’T…
We are not a religious publisher. We do not have only ‘clean’ reads. We realize that our name can be confusing in that regards, but we also believe the word ‘clean’ could be interpreted in so many different ways depending on the reader. We certainly do not want the responsibility of being the one to determine what is supposedly ‘clean’. We simply offer a full disclosure of every novel so you can see the level of romance, language, violence, and drug/alcohol use. We have books that range from YA-E (young adult for everyone), to YA-M (young adult for mature readers). We have a few books that have… wait for it… sex in them. But guess what? We tell you if the book has sex in it up front. You can simply pick up the book, flip to the back, and see a 5 in romance, link over to the full disclosure on your phone, and check out if that love scene is of the super-spicy or behind-closed-doors variety. Or if you are uncomfortable with that, you can set that book down and go pick up another one with a 1-3 on the romance level.
